Getting Started

Nervous about starting therapy, here is what you can expect.

Step 1

Fill out the contact us form below and a therapist will email you to schedule a 15-minute consultation call.

Step 2

You will have a consultation call with one of our therapists so we can:

  • Talk about your need and goals for therapy.

  • See if one of our therapists would be a good fit.

  • Discuss logistics such as cost,  insurance coverage, and scheduling.

  • Schedule your first appointment or give you a referral to someone who would be a better fit.

Step 3

You will receive an email with forms and screening to complete prior to your first session.

Step 4

You log on for your first session with your therapist. During this session we will:

  • Discuss the therapy process, structure of session, "rules," and answer any questions

  • Get to know each other

  • Talk about your current struggles

  • Discuss your goals for therapy and come up with a treatment plan including how often we plan to meet and what we are going to work on

  • Begin to learn about your bigger picture

  • Figure out any immediate strategies or next steps

  • Schedule your next appointments

Step 5

Continue to have therapy sessions at a frequency that works for you, typically 1-2 times per month at first.  Continuously assess your needs for frequency and your progress.

Step 6

When you are ready, we talk about discharge or referral to another type of therapist to help you with your continued growth.
